TELUS PureFibre uses fiber optic technology and light to transmit data from TELUS to the customer premises, which is more energy-efficient than legacy data transmission methods. Energy savings are not experienced at the customer level because of enhanced household equipment and Wi-Fi.
Traditional copper wire or copper wire hybrid networks are subject to capacity constraints and environmental stresses that do not affect TELUS fibre optic technology, which is based on light signals. Not available in all areas.
