Dr. Damon Ramsey

As Chief Medical Informatics Officer and Vice-president, Collaborative Health, Dr. Ramsey leads the team responsible for bringing to market digital health innovation and forward-thinking technology that fosters collaboration, where privacy and security are built in by design. In this capacity, he oversees the strategic evolution of TELUS Health’s electronic medical record (EMR) portfolio, with a vision of enabling a single digital patient health record for every Canadian, using the power of health information to reduce morbidity and mortality.

Dr. Ramsey draws on his unique background in health, informatics and business to passionately transform medicine towards the ever evolving needs of patients.

Prior to joining TELUS Health, Dr. Ramsey was Co-founder of InputHealth, the first Canadian cloud-based collaborative health record (CHR), which was acquired by TELUS in 2020.

A BC Business Top 30 under 30 award winner and Loran Scholar, Dr. Ramsey was a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer at 12-years-old and graduated from McMaster University Medical School at the age of 21 before completing his family residency at UBC. He actively practices in the UBC Student Health Service and is also lead physician of Occupational and Preventive Health at the university.

Dr. Ramsey defines his professional life by a sense of urgency where the mantra “do no harm” is insufficient. He focuses his energy on doing as much good as fast as possible, all the while keeping the needs of patients – especially the most vulnerable – at the heart of everything he does.
