Team Member-Led Resource Groups

With over 8,000 members, these groups play a vital role in recognizing diversity, advancing inclusion and fostering well-being within our organization and communities. They support team members who identify as women, Indigenous, individuals of varying abilities, newcomers, Black and LGBTQ2+.

Early on, I chose to work at TELUS in part because it respects and supports the LGBTQ2+ community. From Spectrum, our resource group for LGBTQ2+ team members, and our ongoing support for Pride events to raising awareness of important issues and events such as Transgender Day of Visibility, it’s clear that TELUS continues to be a true advocate for LGBTQ2+ inclusion.

Paying it forward

Diversity drives innovation and that’s why we provide future leaders with career opportunities and financial support. We believe in empowering the next generation through initiatives like our Diversity in Technology Scholarship, which supports women and minorities in their final year of studies in a technology-related program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
“As a result of receiving this scholarship, I can spend my final year focused on completing my Engineering degree and planning for my future in the field. This scholarship has also allowed me to connect with mentors, other students and women who, like myself, will be launching their careers in STEM fields after graduation.”

Indigenous Reconciliation

In partnership with Indigenous Peoples, TELUS is committed to progressing the path of reconciliation in a deeply meaningful way and is dedicated to fulfilling our role and responsibilities in this regard.
For more than a decade, TELUS has collaborated with Indigenous Peoples and organizations to enable connectivity and bridge digital, geographic and socio-economic divides. BlackNorth Initiative

We are committed to investing 3% of our corporate donations for the Black community, hiring at least 5% Black students and having 3.5% of our leadership roles held by Black or racialized persons by 2025.

Through our Supplier Diversity program, we’re building long-standing strategic partnerships with diverse suppliers that reflect our core values and customer base.

We work with certifying associations and provide equal opportunities for culturally diverse, Indigenous, LGBTQ2+, people with disabilities, women-run organizations, small businesses and veterans to bid for our business in competitive processes that foster economic development in Canada and worldwide.
